Nehemiah.

Most of us shirk our responsibilities and are fond of giving excuses when we fail to accomplish tasks given to us! If you don't fall into this category then you may belong to the group that never accomplish anything fully because of fear or what people say. Nehemiah was a humble servant God used to do great things and we can learn a lot from his life.

~ One thing I really love about Nehemiah is that he prayed about everything. Nehemiah never hesitated to go to God in prayer, he always put Him first. Most of us think God doesn't really want to hear what we are going through or you may think you are boring God with your prayers. God wants to hear everything we have to tell Him, especially the things we think are unnecessary, that is what the Bible meant by pray without ceasing! God wants us to tell Him whats on our minds and whatever that troubles us just as Nehemiah did.

~Another important thing we can learn from Nehemiah is that though he prayed to God about everything, he did what was humanly required of him. Nehemiah did not just sit there for the wall to build itself, he gathered people and joined them in building! Most of us pray to God and just wait for a miracle to happen. Yes God still does miracles but He also does it through people and you can be the one for Him to use to work out your miracle. When you pray to God for something, don't get lazy , put in more effort than before, do your part and God will also reward it as an answer to your prayer. Broken things need to be fixed by humans with the help of God.

~Nehemiah stood up for others, including people he did not know! When he heard about what was going on in Jerusalem, he knew he had to help them no matter what. He left his comfort zone just to help his people, even when people criticized him and threatened to kill him, he did not run away or give up. Most of us have gifts that are supposed to be used to help others grow in Christ but we are too relaxed in our place of comfort or are so afraid that we would rather stay there than do the work of God. Jesus left heaven, which is better than any comfort zone to die on the cross for us. We should not forget or be scared to help the people around us when we know we can.

Be prayerful, do your best at any task given to you, help others wholeheartedly, BE LIKE NEHEMIAH!
